Cafe au Lait Bowls

This is one of those items that I have kept an eye out for during my shopping adventures.  I don't think I had ever really looked at an original cafe au lait bowl.

These bowls are not in the best condition, one has a chip and the other one has some staining.  I must say they are still pretty gorgeous.

They both have the Digoin France stamp on the bottom.

I am definitely going to be on the look out for one of these in a color closer to my house's color pallet. For now these pretties will help to inspire me.

When it all comes together

I have my favorite thrift store here in France that I visit once a week when I can.  I usually come home with a random variety of things.  I love it when I got through my new finds and I realize that I can put together a fun look with things I have collected over the last year.

These pink cups and saucers are Arcoroc, made in France.  They are so dainty and pretty.  The hand stitched cloth has great colors and is in really good condition. The pink, blue and brown combination is not something I would usually pick up, but it was fun and it really wanted to come home with me.

The brown and pink egg tray makes me want to put together some deviled eggs and pour some tea.

Now to look for a coordinating tea pot.  It is always good to have a goal.

I'm Back with my finds from Barcelona!

It has been a very long time since I have posted here, and so much has happened.  Our family moved from Houston, Texas to Oslo, Norway and finally on to Paris, France.  I have had another baby, that makes 4, and he is already 6 months old.
I had fun shopping for new treasures in Oslo, but nothing has compared to the adventures I am having here in France.  There are so many different ways to collect treasures here, Brocantes, Fairs, thrift stores, and even trash days are all excellent sources.  Our vacations have become a way for me to combine sight seeing, learning about history and bringing home a truly unique souvenir.  So far Zurich, Switzerland and Barcelona, Spain have proven to be excellent hunting grounds.
I am going to try and keep up with this blog again, if you have ever wanted to explore a French brocante, or visit a market in Barcelona you can stop by and visit with me through the pictures and treasures.
Here are a few pictures of my latest finds from Spain.
These were collected from the Encants Market, in downtown Barcelona, and Mercantic, a fun antique store outside of the city.

Trying to fit all of these goodies in our car with 4 kiddos and all of the other things we packed for a 2 week trip was exciting in itself.  I did pass up more of the red transfer ware plates because of a lack of space and a couple of vintage globes because of their size.
I hope you enjoy!

Moving Along

Things have been moving along at the Antique Gallery.  I have been working on a few new bows and they have been so fun!  If you have never lived in Texas, Rodeo is like another holiday. The Rodeo comes to Houston in March and there is at least one Rodeo day at school.
This little table with stools was so fun to work on, it didn't last very long in the store.
I still love this bike, the little pink flowers wrapped around it just looks like spring time to me.
I love this little bench, we use one like it as a time out bench in our house.  The blanket is a handmade crocheted afghan.  It is a little big bigger than a traditional baby blanket and it has a sweet scalloped edge.
I brought this cow skull and vertebrae back from Arkansas and I didn't know if I should put it in the shop, but it only lasted a couple of days before someone snapped it up.
This is a little mini ironstone pitcher and basin, it has a Syracuse marking on the bottom.
A fun St. Patty's day pennant banner, they are so fun and festive.

The black buffet sold!  My space looks so different now with it gone.
All of the fun bows, The flower bows have coordinating jewels in the middle.  Let me know if you are interested in a custom bow for your Easter outfit.
 Well Loved Treasures.

This old vintage mail sorter almost didn't make it to my shop and when it did, it didn't last the day!
This is a great old trunk, it is a great piece with lots of personality.
Lots of great frames right now, The largest ones have 21X28 openings.
Some beautiful glass pieces, great for setting an Easter table.
 A vintage orange pyrex bowl.
Vintage coffee tin and bread box and a few Fiestaware pieces.
This beautiful little set is marked with Monterry Jade on the bottom, it is stunning in person
This black frame with chicken wire is a great bow holder or mail holder.
Memo boards, wooden painted shelves and vintage luggage, so much fun.

Vintage blanket made into a pillow and lots of Easter baskets.

The Latest

I got to spend some quality time at the shop this morning. between being sick in January and a broken camera things have been kind of slow around here. It felt so good to go in early this morning and move some things around, do some mark downs, and make things look pretty.

These are Hello Kitty Watches.

I hope you are all having a great weekend!

Arkansas Shopping Trip

While on vacation in Arkansas this past weekend I was able to go with a friend and do some treasure hunting. These are some of the things I found. Everything needs to be cleaned up and somethings will be painted or used in other projects, but I am really pleased with everything I was able to find.
North American Teddy Bear Co. 1979 the Humphrey Beargart Bear. He is missing a couple pieces from his outfit, but he is in great shape.
The chairs are old chairs from on elementary school. They are so sturdy and would be great for a homeschool or craft area for kids.
Vintage luggage always seems to be a big hit when I can find it. This pink piece has a broken latch and needs a little cleaning, but she has so much character.
The green suitcase is my favorite thing I found this weekend.
I love this bowl with the pink rose, the larger bowl underneath has yellow flowers. They are both so pretty and dainty.
This little 3 1/2 inch tall vase is so sweet. I love the colors.
This pile might look a little crazy, but I am so excited to see what I can create with it.
Most of these items will end up in my shop at the Antique Gallery of Houston or in my etsy shop. If you have any questions or are interested in anything just let me know. Thanks for looking.
